Murphy's Law... According To The Kid

1.  The baby will ALWAYS wake up just as I'm thinking about drifting off to sleep.

2.  Give her a teething biscuit?  No thanks.  A banana slice?  Not having it.  A remote control?  BINGO!  Straight to the mouth.

3.  In the ten minutes in which I take off her diaper (to let her air out and avoid diaper rash) she WILL ALWAYS pee.

4.  When feeding her, she will ALWAYS rub her eyes and get food on her eyelids and hair.  And then get pissed at me.  WTF, Baby?

5.   Be so beautiful that I always wonder, "Are other mothers as in love with their babies as I am?  They can't be, otherwise the world would be a place of uninterrupted beauty and peace, with each of us doing it for our children."

  1. That is to sweet, I love the way you described your interactions with her. I can totally relate, my baby is 17 now, but I do remember the peeing and feeding time. Ha Ha Loved this!

  3. Haha, my baby always rubs his food in his eyes and hair. Then freaks out when I have to rub him down with a wash cloth.

I wonder the same thing. Because I think, no other mother can possibly feel this kind of crushing love weight. How is it possible it must just be me. But then I pass a mom in the store laughing at her baby doing nothing at all funny and I realize that every mom is super in love. Such a sweet thing.

  5. I love this, especially numbers two, three, and five! On number two, since Nya is teething, she particularly loves to "try" computer cords, cell phones, and remotes.

I can tell that she knows that putting such things in her mouth will warrant a reaction from me, as she always looks at me before "taking the first bite."

  9. @Therapyfree: Yeah, I guess I'm not the only one in love with my kid, huh? *wink*

@Nya's Mom: At least your baby gives you a look before chomping down. My daughter doesn't give a damn-- I think the only time she will hesitate like, "I know this is wrong" is... Wow! Never! lol.

@ P&P: Yeah, the key is distraction-- exchange one drug/jewel for another! lol. The only thing is it doesn't work with stuffed animals-- they are NO subsitute for the deliciousness of an electronic snack.

@ Tree: Thank you! Yes, that is me at seven months. I think I'll post a label.

@ Mama Hen: Yeah, I hear you! I think my baby is the most beauitiful, most perfect angel in the world. Sigh.

  10. When my son was about 5 wks old, my dad thought it'd be hilarious to prop him into the recliner with the remote and take a picture. Little did he know...

Why do they sooo love remotes??? And it has to be the real thing. We even tried to take the batteries out of an old one and let him play with that. He tossed it aside almost immediately!
